Greetings Brothers and Friends of Alpha!

You have located the website of Eta Tau Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., which is located in Akron, Ohio. Our website is designed for Brothers all; college and alumni members; as well as to offer some insight of the depth and greatness to prospective members of our dear fraternity. Its purpose is an ambitious one; to keep you well informed, provide easy access to what is taking place in our chapter and in the greater Akron community, and to proudly convey our fraternal history of over 100 years as fraternity and 47 years as a chapter.
Since its founding on December 4,1906, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has stood for the ideals of justice, leadership and the general betterment of all men. The seven men who found Alpha at Cornell University at Ithaca, NY (The seven men pictured above, our 7 Jewel Brothers) sought to create a community of men, who, in each other, found the strength to persevere and triumph over the racial and cultural oppression of their day. Please hover your mouse over their pictures to find out more about them.
With more than 500 chapters in the United States and abroad, Alpha Phi Alpha is the largest, oldest collegiate undergraduate and graduate Black Greek-letter organization in existence. The Eta Tau Lambda Chapter, founded at Akron, Ohio, August 23, 1960, has continued the long and illustrious tradition. The professional men who constitute its ranks come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We unite, however, in a common fraternal bond of love and commitment to excellence.
